To learn about this minigame, check our Guardian of the Rift guide.
  • Full gracefulFull graceful: This is the best alternative to the Raiment of the Eye outfit. It does not offer any additional reward, but it helps maintain and restore run energy, which is quite useful since a lot of running is required in this method.
  • Ring of enduranceRing of endurance: if this ring has 500 charges or more, it will passively reduce the run energy drain rate by 15% without using any charges. This is useful for players who would be wearing the Raiments of Eye outfit. The ring is a potential reward from the Grand Hallowed Coffin and requires 70 agility to equip.
  • Kourend & Kebos DiaryCompletion of Kourend and Kebos Diary: Completing the medium and elite Kourend & Kebos gives the player a chance to mine an extra essence block, increasing their profits significantly

  • Blood essenceBlood essence: When activated, it gives the player a 50% chance to craft an extra blood rune per dark essence fragment, pure essence, daeyalt essence, or guardian essence for no additional runecrafting XP. Each blood essence can craft an extra 1,000 blood runes before being destroyed. This is highly recommended as it improves the profit significantly. It is a possible drop from the Tombs of Amascut and a potential reward from opening an intricate pouch. Players can also just purchase it from the grand exchange.

Location for Crafting Blood Runes at Zeah

Dense Essence Mine

Dense Essence Mine

Players will spend most of their time in the Dense essence mine when runecrafting blood runes at Zeah. There are two dense runestones in the mine, where players can mine dense essence blocks. The blood altar and dark altar are not far from here.

Dark Altar

Dark Altar

The Dark Altar is an artefact located west of the dense essence mine. It transforms dense essence blocks into dark essence blocks. Creating dark essence blocks reduces prayer points by 1 per block, and 2,5 Runecraft XP is awarded for each block. If you run out of prayer, you’d still be able to create dark essence blocks.

Blood Altar

Blood Altar

The Blood Altar is a runic altar located south of the Dark Altar, it is used to craft blood runes from dark essence fragments. Crafting blood runes at this altar provides the player with 23.8 runecraft XP per dark essence fragment they imbue. The path from the dark altar to the blood altar is shown below.

path to Blood Altar

Here are the fastest ways to get to these locations

How to get to blood altar

  • Fairy ring CIS: this is the fastest method to get to the dense essence mine. It teleports you directly west of the mine
  • Arceuus Library teleport; teleports players to the caster north of the Grand Library of Great Kourend. It is only available on the Arceuus spellbook and requires 2 earth runes and 1 law rune.
  • Kharedst’s memoirs: it is obtained as a reward for completion of the Client of Kourend quest. Use it to teleport to the dark disposition, then run north.
  • Games necklace: teleport to Wintertodt with this necklace, then run south to the mine.
  • Ship from Port Piscarillius: If you can’t use any of these options, then you can just take the boat from Port Sarim To Port Piscarrillius by speaking to Veos on the docks. Then, run north to the dense essence mine above.

Steps for Blood Runecrafting at Zeah

  • While equipping the required items, mine an inventory full of dense essence blocks at the dense runestone mine
  • Run to the Dark Altar and click on it to turn the dense essence blocks into dark essence blocks
  • Chip the dense essence blocks into dark essence fragments with a chisel, as you run back to the dense runestone mine. Each block will create 4 pieces; chipping all 27 blocks will form a stack of 108 fragments, the maximum a player can hold at a time.
  • Mine another inventory of dense essence blocks, then convert them into dark essence blocks at the dark altar. Note that you won’t be able to chip more dark essence blocks since you already have 108 fragments in your inventory.
  • Run to the blood altar and runecraft the fragments in your inventory into runes
  • Chisel the remaining blocks in your inventory into fragments and runecraft them as well
  • Run back to the dense runestone mine and repeat

Don’t forget to always use the shortcut if you have at least 73 agility. This saves so much time. The maximum number of blood runes that can be crafted in one trip is 212 or roughly 300 with an activated blood essence. This limit increases to 232 with the completion of elite Kourend and Kebos Diary.
