Varrock Museum Kudos are given to players who contribute to the Varrock Museum by providing useful information from certain quests, finding uncleaned, answering the natural history quiz, and adding fossils to displays. Players can get a maximum of 235 kudos from all these activities.
Getting Kudos in the Varrock Museum unlocks various rewards and access to new content in OSRS. Here are the main uses:
Cleaning uncleaned finds in the southern part of the Museum’s ground floor is one of the fastest ways to get kudos. Players must first complete the Digsite quest before they are allowed to clean the uncleaned finds. Several items are required to clean uncleaned finds, which can be collected from the tool rack on the south wall, shown below.
The items required include:
After getting the required items, players can take many uncleaned finds from the specimen rock by clicking on it. They can be cleaned by using them on the empty specimen table. Some important items listed below can be found when the finds are cleaned. The other items have no value and should be dropped. If you find any important item, show it to one of the archaeologists, who will tell you the right display to place it. Players can get a total of 50 kudos for placing these items in the right displays.
Here are the items players can find, the right display to place them, and the Kudos to expect
Players can exchange information from completed quests for Kudos with Historian Minas on the 1st floor of the Varrock museum, as shown below. Each quest gives 5 kudos except the Curse of the Empty Lord quest which gives 10 kudos, for a total of 80 kudos. Some quests award antique lamps for a total of 18,000 XP in a selected skill.
If you are trying to get Kudos as quickly as possible, here is a list of the fastest quests to complete for Kudos:
This gives a total of 60 kudos
The natural history quiz consists of 3 questions about 14 creature displays which must be answered correctly to earn 2 kudos each for a total of 28. Players can start the quiz by speaking to Orlando Smith, located in the centre of the basement floor. After speaking to Orlando Smith, click on the plaque in front of a display to get 3 questions. If the questions are answered correctly, the player will be awarded 2 kudos, and the quiz questions will be replaced by the common and scientific name of the animal.
It is highly recommended that players use RuneLite as it highlights the answers to all questions.
After all the questions are answered correctly, speak to Orlando again to receive 1000 XP in Hunter and Slayer.
This requires the completion of the Bone Voyage quest for access to Fossil Island, where you may find unidentified fossils when doing certain activities. These fossils can be cleaned and identified on the island or in the Varrock museum, after which they can be added to fossil displays on the second basement floor, the lowest floor of the museum.
To complete a display, players need 5 fossils of the same type. Each fossil added grants 2 kudos and an antique lamp, which awards 2,000, 3,500, or 5,000 XP in any skill of the player’s choice. With 36 displays in the exhibit, players can earn up to 72 kudos and a total of 120,000 XP
These results in a total of 36 displays, 180 fossils, 120,000 XP, and 72 kudos.
This requires the completion of the Below the Ice Mountain quest to gain access to the Ruins of Camdozaal. Five relics can be found when Barronite deposits are cracked open with a hammer at the Barronite crusher, requiring 14 smithing. Barronite deposits are found while mining in the Ruins of Camdozal, each granting 32 mining XP. Donating a relic gives one kudos and 200 coins, while a subsequent copy of that relic grants 100 coins.
