1 Defence Pure is an account build known to sacrifice training defence to have more damage than usual at a lower combat level. Due to this account build effectiveness in PVP, it is usually created by Pkers. They are best for shorter fights as they rely on dealing high amounts of damage in a short period. Longer fights will result in more damage, making this account build less effective due to its low defence. 1 Defence Pure account builds usually have a combat level between 50 and 90 and have enough stats to use high-level weapons or spells, giving them high offensive bonuses, which is advantageous when facing players with low to medium-tier armour.

Combat training on a Pure is difficult since you can’t train with certain monsters due to low defence levels. Pures have to eat often and make frequent trips to a bank to get more food, making combat training on pures less AFK. Using combat boosting potions like the super combat potion is very important., they would give an increase in attack, strength, and defence, allowing you to train longer before needing to go to a bank. It is recommended that pures train their attack, strength, and ranged with the monsters listed below.
Although crabs generally have very low combat stats, they can still hit 1 defence pures often. However, they are the best monsters to train combat with as other monsters would deal too much damage, making training much less efficient. Check our sand crabs and ammonite crabs guide to learn how to train with them more efficiently.
There are faster alternatives to killing the monsters listed above when training ranged. However, these methods are more expensive.

Ranged training for pures:
Dwarf multicannon
Training with dwarf multicannon gives fast ranged experience and less hitpoint experience. The cannon can be used in several multicombat areas in the game, but pures won’t be able to train in locations where the monsters have a high maximum hit.
The best location for pures is at the Combat training camp, where Ogres are found after the completion of Biohazard. They won’t be able to attack the player since they are in a cage, and the players can place the cannon right outside the cage and do additional damage with a ranged weapon to get more experience.
Chinning Skeletal Monkeys
This is the fastest method of training ranged on a Pure. Skeletal monkeys are located in the Ape Atoll Dungeon, which requires partial completion of Monkey Madness I to access. Ensure not to speak to Daero after the completion of Monkey Madness I so you won’t get awarded the defence experience. Instead, right-click and travel when going to Ape Atoll. Check our chinning guide for more information.
